Hail and well met friends! This week I was going to write an entry on the possible connection to trauma cycling and the October retrograde.

However, it brought up some good questions I’d like to pose to you all in a somewhat shorter blog entry while I work on this theory of mine.

Do you need to believe in Tarot to have it work for you?

I would say not. Tarot as a form of divination is an insight using the cards, not a get rich quick scheme or a beauty product that confidently asserts its ability to erase years of your life. Nor is it strictly religion, though faith helps.

Faith, despite being associated with religion most recently, has a place in Paganism/divination. Having faith that the reader will give you an honest reading, that the cards may offer some new insight. You don’t need to be a believer. I’ve moved the needle of more than a few skeptics when doing readings for them. Could it be coincidence? Absolutely, but you could say the same thing about praying to your god for a windfall of some kind and then it happens.

I may have mentioned this before, but I am a firm believer that magic is the place where science cannot reach yet. Like Gregor Mendel, I think we can have space in our lives for science and faith to exist happily, and even create a beautiful balance in our minds and hearts. As much as we need logic and reason, there needs to be wiggle room for the fantastic.

Just some food for thought today friends,

Be well!

Trombley
